Tracy Stuffle Celebrates 25 Years With The Perrys

Tracy StuffleTracy Stuffle Celebrates 25 Years

With The Perrys

Hendersonville, TN (Oct. 28, 2010) – When the Perrys decided to hire a bass singer in 1985, they had no way of knowing 18 year old Tracy Stuffle would go on to make such a mark on Southern Gospel music.

On a recommendation by Gerald Wolfe, the Perry family invited Tracy to try out for the position.  Gerald and Tracy made the trip from Morristown, TN to Dahlonega, GA, in Gerald’s 1976 Toyota Corolla station wagon.  Following a less-than-stellar audition, it appeared as though his chances of being hired were slim, but George Perry saw Tracy’s potential.  On October 30, 1985, after a second audition and a brief trial run, Tracy began singing bass for the Perrys, a position he has now held for 25 years.

Libbi Perry Stuffle recalls Tracy’s early days with the group, saying, “Tracy was full of energy and wanted to sing!”  But Tracy’s enthusiasm did not end there.  “Then, after he got the part, he wanted to learn to drive the bus.  Well, he did that!  Then, he wanted to learn how to work on a bus and learned to do that pretty good!”  Libbi continues, “his next thing he wanted to do: marry the boss’ daughter. Well, on November 28, 1987, he did that too!”

The last quarter of a century has brought about many changes, both for the group and for the industry as a whole.  But through it all, Tracy has remained faithful to the call on his life to share the Gospel through song.  Libbi concludes by saying, “it's been a long road, with a lot of bumps along the way, but he has persevered and made it this far! We pray that God will allow Tracy to continue to carry His word in song for 50 more years or more! Thank you, Tracy, for your dedication, devotion and hard work you have given to God's services!”

Perrys Announce New Baritone Singer

Daywind recording artist, the Perrys have announced that Troy Peach will be the new baritone singer for the group. Troy is currently the group’s sound engineer and bus driver, but he is no stranger to the stage. He has been in Gospel music for years. He can be remembered as a part of the highly successful ministry of the Steeles and most recently, from his own group, First Love.

Libbi Stuffle, of the Perrys, shared, “We have known Troy for years and have watched him develop into a hard working young man. We have traveled with him, and we know his life and his talents. He is so easy to get a long with, and that counts for a lot when you travel on a 45-foot bus four days out of the week and sometimes more. Troy has a heart and passion not only for our music, but for Gospel music as a whole. He wants to do his part to make it all it can be. He is already a part of our ‘family,’ so now we have just tied him in even more! Troy is so excited about being able to sing again, and we are excited to have him.” To learn more about the Perrys, visit www.perrysministries.com.

Changes Announced For The Perrys

Daywind recording artist, the Perrys, have announced the departure of baritone singer, Nick Trammell, from the ministry of the Perrys. Nick tenured his resignation, expressing he felt God leading him in a new direction. Trammell joined the group as baritone vocalist in August of 2006. The Perrys sound engineer, Troy Peach, will be filling the position until a replacement is chosen.

"We certainly wish Nick God's blessings on all of his endeavors,” said Tracy Stuffle of the Perrys. “God rewards faith, and as such, we know that God can use Nick in ways that will honor Him. When personnel changes have come our way in the past, we’ve anxiously awaited to see the person God would put in our path. We hope to be able to announce the name of our new baritone soon.”

Nick expressed his gratefulness to the Perrys and issued the following statement. “I would like to thank all of those who have supported and loved me over the past two-and-a-half years. I don't feel that I am done in Southern Gospel music, nor in ministry. But for now, I feel God is moving me to a new chapter in my life. I don't know what is to come but I believe stepping out in faith is what I need to do to be shown what is next. I would like to thank Tracy, Libbi and all of those on the Perrys’ bus for giving me a chance and taking me in as family. I wish them God’s best in the future. Please continue to pray for Jessica and I as we seek God's will for whatever He has in store for us. We love you all."
