Daywind Roots Announces Release Of Good News Travels Fast by Shenandoah

Hendersonville, TN (April 29th, 2016) – Legendary country band, Shendandoah will release their first-ever gospel project, Good News Travels Fast, on April 29th, 2016 on Daywind Roots.  The band’s signature sound, as well as Marty Raybon’s unmistakable vocals, seamlessly lend themselves to eleven songs of faith, redemption and familiar southern Sundays.  The title track also serves as the first single, at radio now.

When country music lovers talk about the greatest groups in the genre, Shenandoah is always at the forefront of any discussion. Fueled by Marty Raybon’s distinctive vocals and the band’s skilled musicianship, Shenandoah became well-know for delivering such hits as ‘Two Dozen Roses,’ ‘Church On Cumberland Road,’ and ‘Next To You, Next To Me,’ as well as such achingly beautiful classics as ‘I Want To Be Loved Like That,’ and the GRAMMY Award winning ‘Somewhere In The Vicinity Of The Heart’ duet with Alison Krauss.

Today, that legacy continues as original members Raybon and Mike McGuire reunite to launch a new chapter in Shenandoah’s storied career. Though they’ve secured their place in country music history, Raybon and McGuire are not content to rest on their laurels and have never stopped looking for new hit songs.  With a pile of outstanding songs waiting to be recorded, the group moves forward into the next chapter, determined to deliver the same top-tier music that is synonymous with Shenandoah.

Having recorded a number of faith-based songs and hymns in the past, the decision to produce a full gospel album was a natural one.  The project includes new and original music, the majority of which was written by band members and friends at a recent writer’s retreat in their home base of Muscle Shoals, AL.  In addition to Raybon & McGuire, gifted writers such as Jerry Salley, Gerald Crabb and Tim Menzies lended their talents to contribute to the project.

Good News Travels Fast will be available at Christian retail stores across the country and digitally at iTunes and other online outlets. Bulk purchasing for gift and ministry purposes is available by calling 1.800.635.9581.

Daywind Records is proud to announce that 5 of the Top 6 songs of 2015 belong to Daywind recording artists.

With their debut radio single, the newly-formed Jim Brady Trio claimed the top spot with ‘Steppin’ Out In Faith.’  The up-tempo tune, penned by Jim & Melissa Brady, climbed to #2 on the monthly charts, narrowly missing the coveted #1 position.  However, its consistent performance and airplay throughout the first half of the year earned the song top honors for the year.

Karen Peck & New River Garners Fourth Grammy Nomination

Hendersonville, TN (December 7th, 2015) – Karen Peck & New River are honored to be among the nominees of the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. Their 2015 studio project, Pray Now, received a nod in the Best Roots Gospel Album category, presenting the award-winning group with their fourth career Grammy nomination.

Pray Now, produced by Wayne Haun, has already enjoyed its share of success since its April 2015 release, having received a GMA Dove Award for Southern Gospel Album of the Year in October.  The title track from the album, ‘Pray Now,’ is a collaborative effort from Karen Peck Gooch, Dave Clark & Michael Farren urging listeners to call on God in prayer regardless of circumstances.  The timely single powered to the top of the Singing News Radio Chart in October of this year, and has received glowing reviews from fans and critics alike.

Karen Peck Gooch shares her excitement, “We are extremely excited and honored to have a Grammy nomination! Everyone worked very hard on this project: it was truly a team effort. Special thanks to our producer, Wayne Haun, as well as Ed Leonard, Dottie Leonard, Scott Godsey and Rick Shelton at Daywind Music and Ed Harper of the Harper Agency. Also, we want to express our gratitude to all of the incredible writers on this album. Pray Now is very dear to us. We had no idea when we recorded the album in January that our world would change within a matter of days when my husband Rickey was diagnosed with cancer. Pray Now helped us through many difficult days. This nomination is an extra special blessing to us. To God be the glory!”

“Karen Peck and New River is the consummate artist,” comments Ed Leonard, President of Daywind Records. “ They continue to make fresh, inspiring music, giving hope to a world in need. We are so proud to have them as part of the Daywind family!”

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday, February 15, 2016.  The live program, which will feature many of the top musical acts in the country, will be broadcast in high-definition and 5.1 surround sound on CBS. Hosts, presenters and performers will be announced at a later date.
